Let's get into shapes....

... in many forms like playing with a variety of jigsaws, looking through coloured geometric shapes, building with wooden blocks, constructing with Lego and Duplo, mirrored shapes, exploring tap-a-shape and peg board wheels, making different shaped ice cubes.

The weather proved no barrier to learning either and this week the children incorporated ice cubes into their sandcastles, fixed bikes and various structures around the garden using new tool kit, sold ice-cream from the kiosk, flew ribbons and chiffon scarves, explored properties of ice and animals that lived in cold climates.

Two of our team attended a North Yorkshire training event that focused on young children's personal social and emotional development. They thoroughly enjoyed the training and will be putting into practice what they learned from the event and ideas they gleaned from other Early Years professionals, so watch this space!
